The people behindTestix guides
Eight specialists who live and breathe product reviews. Together we have the breadth needed to cover everything from kitchen appliances to outdoor activities.
Who writes the guides?
Every guide has a responsible writer with deep knowledge of that particular product category. Here is the full team.
Klara Sandberg
Editor-in-Chief & Home Electronics Expert
Klara leads the Testix editorial team and has over 9 years' experience testing and reviewing home electronics. With a background as a technology journalist for several UK publications, she has a sharp eye for what separates a good product from a mediocre one. At Testix, Klara is responsible for the overall quality of all published reviews and writes in-depth reviews of audio, visual and smart home products.
“The best review is the one that helps you avoid a bad purchase. That is why we are always honest about the drawbacks.”
Oskar Hedlund
Kitchen Expert
Oskar has 7 years' experience testing kitchen products and cooking equipment. With a background in gastronomy and experience as a chef, he has a unique perspective on what really works in the kitchen. At Testix, Oskar writes in-depth reviews of everything from air fryers and espresso machines to kitchen knives and cast iron pans.
“A kitchen appliance should not just pass the test — it should handle everyday life. I always test products as though I would use them myself every day.”
Maja Fridh
White Goods & Indoor Climate Expert
Maja has 6 years' experience testing white goods and home products. With an engineering background in energy technology, she has a deep understanding of how household appliances perform from both a functional and energy perspective. At Testix, she writes detailed reviews of washing machines, dishwashers, robot vacuums and everything else that keeps the home running.
“A good appliance goes unnoticed in everyday life — it simply works. That is my guiding principle when I test.”
Axel Nyström
Training & Sports Expert
Axel has 8 years' experience testing training products and supplements. With a degree in sports science and a personal trainer certification, he combines scientific knowledge with practical experience. At Testix, he is responsible for all reviews in training, sport and health.
“Marketing promises the earth. My job is to distinguish between what actually works and what just looks good on the label.”
Freja Wikström
Pets & Nature Expert
Freja has over 10 years' experience in animal care and product testing within the pet category. With veterinary nurse training and her own breeding experience, she has both theoretical and practical knowledge of what animals truly need. At Testix, she tests everything from dog food and cat litter trays to aquarium equipment and horse accessories.
“Our pets cannot tell us what they think of a product. That is why we must be extra thorough in testing for their sake.”
Nils Arvidsson
Tools & Garden Expert
Nils has 11 years' experience testing tools, building products and garden equipment. With a background as a carpenter and gardener, he knows exactly what is required of a product in practice. At Testix, he writes thorough reviews of everything from drills and chainsaws to barbecues and robot mowers.
“A good tool should feel right in the hand from the very first moment. No specification sheet can convey that feeling — that is why we test them ourselves.”
Saga Holmberg
Beauty & Children's Expert
Saga has 5 years' experience testing beauty and children's products. With a background in cosmetology and personal experience as a mother of two young children, she has a dual perspective on the products she reviews. At Testix, she writes detailed reviews of everything from skincare and hair dryers to pushchairs and car seats.
“When it comes to children, I accept no compromises on safety. Every product is tested as though my own children would use it.”
Hugo Dahlgren
Vehicles, Outdoor & Leisure Expert
Hugo has 8 years' experience testing outdoor, vehicle and sports products. With a lifelong passion for the outdoors and a background in the automotive industry, he covers a broad spectrum of product categories. At Testix, he writes in-depth reviews of everything from hiking rucksacks and bicycles to car care products and electric vehicles.
“I test products where they belong: out in nature, on the road, in the garage. Not at a desk.”
Our ground rules
Four principles that govern how we work — and that you can always hold us accountable to.
No hidden agenda
Affiliate links fund the operation, but they never influence which products we highlight or what scores they receive. Rankings are set before the links are added.
Open cards
Every guide shows which test sources we used, how we weighted them and why. You should be able to scrutinise our work — not just trust it.
Data-driven
We don't guess. Every recommendation is based on aggregated results from multiple independent test sources, cross-checked against real user experiences.
Written for everyone
You shouldn't need to be an expert to understand our guides. We explain clearly what matters — without unnecessary jargon.
From test results to finished guide
Every guide is built on data from established test sources — Wirecutter, Which?, RTINGS, Stiftung Warentest and many more. We collect, review and aggregate the results into a complete picture tailored for UK consumers.
Test sources that don't meet our requirements for independence, depth and transparency are weighted down or removed. We also look at real user experiences to capture things that lab tests can miss.
Step by step
Map test sources
We identify all relevant tests published for the product category — internationally and in the UK.
Assess credibility
Is the source independent? How thoroughly have they tested? If the answers don't meet the standard, the source is excluded.
Aggregate results
We convert all scores to the same scale and combine them with user data into an overall ranking.
Review and publish
An editor checks everything before publication. The guide is then updated continuously when new tests or prices emerge.
